Need Math Help?
Just a reminder that I am available on Wednesday mornings beginning at 8am for students needing some additional math help. This time is especially important for students who have been absent for several days. This is their opportunity to get caught up – it may take more than one visit!

Students can retake quizzes once they have shown me that they have practiced and have improved on the parts of the quiz they did poorly on. Students can find examples in the math book, on-line or create their own similar problems to practice! Students can make up quizzes during their lunch period or Wednesday morning before school. Depending on our time frame, students will normally have one week from the time they get their graded quizzes back to retake quizzes before the grades become finalized.
As an addition to the above requirements, students must also be up-to-date with all homework before they are allowed to retake a quiz. Once students have completed all that was assigned, they may then do their quiz practice and then come in to retake the quiz.

Students in all classes will be given a short quiz on Thursday of this week. 7th graders will be evaluated on multiplication and division facts. 8th graders will be evaluated on solving equations using the Order of Operations. (Remember, Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally?) Ask your 8th graders what this means if it wasn’t a blast from the past for you!
Students must pass these quizzes with a minimum 80% in order to show mastery and move on to the next skill. Students who do not pass with an 80% will need to practice and retake quizzes until they reach the mastery level. An NP (Not Passed) grade will be given until students pass with an 80%.
